MURRINE ROMANE

The Murrine Romane bowl is a testament to Carlo Scarpa's innovative approach to glass design, drawing inspiration from ancient Roman glassware. Conceived in collaboration with Paolo Venini in 1936, this piece was celebrated at both the Venice Biennale and the Milan Triennale for its unique reinterpretation of classical forms. The bowl showcases a complex assembly of polychrome glass tesserae, melted together to form intricate patterns reminiscent of Roman mosaics. Each bowl is handcrafted using the traditional murrine technique, resulting in a distinctive and timeless work of art.
